Day 2 & 3 of The County Tipperary Track & Field Championship was held in Templemore last weekend the 7th & 8th of May. 

GIRLS RESULTS
The U.12 Girls got off to a great start with double titles for Ciara Flaherty when she won Gold in the 60m Hurdles. Ciara also won the Gold in the High Jump with a PB jump of 1.26m.
 It was 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Carrick-On-Suir in the Ball Throw, Aoife Doyle won the Gold with a great throw of 26.80m. Alice Browning was 2nd with a throw of 22.50m, Kerri Ann Whelan was 3rd with a throw of 22.10m and Tara Gayson 5th with a throw of 19.70m.
Aoife Doyle also won Silver in the Hurdles with her club mate Alice Browning finishing in 5th place, Aoife also won the Bronze in the High Jump with a jump of 1.20m.

In the U.13 Girls Shauna Twomey had a great Championship winning three titles with Gold in the 60m Hurdles her team mate Cora Maher took the Bronze , Shauna also won Gold in the High Jump with a jump of 1.25m and the Long Jump with a jump of 3.80m.
In the Shot putt Rhian Lowndes took the Bronze with a great throw of 7.25m and her club mates Aoife McGrath and Shauna Twomey were 4th and 5th. Rhian also won Bronze in the Javelin with a throw of 12.39m, The Relay team ran a great race to win Gold with a team of Aoife Doyle, Shauna Twomey, Zara Galvin ,Ciara Flaherty and Cora Maher. Well Done girls.

In the U.14 Girls Rebecca Kelly won Silver in the 60m Hurdles.

Girls U.15 Leanne Prout was In great form winning three titles with Gold in the 80m Hurdles, Leanne also won Gold in the 100m and the Long Jump with a jump of 4.63m, she was also 2nd in the 200m and the Hammer with a throw of 15.84m. In the High Jump Kelly Ann Doyle took Gold with outstanding jumping giving her a new PB by 20cm with a great jump of 1.52m, Kelly Ann was also 2nd in the Javelin with a throw of 13.47m. The Relay team was 2nd with a team of  Leanne Prout, Kelly Ann Doyle, Rebecca Kelly and Sinead Cosgrave.

In the Girls U.16 Emily Walsh double titles when she won Gold in the High Jump with a jump of 1.43m and  Gold in the Javelin with a throw of 26.96m she was 2nd in the 80m Hurdles, she was 2nd in the Discus with a throw of 16.62m and 3rd in the Shot Putt with a throw of 7.17m. Eimear Bartley won double titles when she won the Long Jump with a jump of 4.19m and the shot Putt with a great throw of 9.70m. Eimear was 2nd in the JaveIin with a throw of 22.47m. In the 80m Hurdles Clodagh Fitzgerald won Gold. Zoe Lynch won silver in the Hammer with a great throw of 21.34m closely followed in 3rd place by Emily Walsh with a throw 21.32 and Heather Dowley in 4th. Shauna Dunphy ran a great 800m race and won Bronze.
In the U.16 relay final it was an exciting finish between out two teams finishing 1st  with a team of Sinead Cosgrave, Leanne Prout, Rebecca Kelly and Kelly Ann Doyle and 2nd with a team of Eimear Bartley, Hannah Dalton, Zoe Lynch and Emily Walsh.

In Junior Women Aoife Bartley won seven titles on the day when she brought home the Gold in the Long Jump jumping 5.08m and the 100m Hurdles with her club mate Hannah Trehy winning Sliver. Aoife also won the High Jump with a jump of 1.45m followed closely by Hannah Trehy who won Sliver with a jump of 1.40m. In the Triple Jump Aoife won Gold with a Jump of 10.53m and Hannah was 3rd with a jump of 8.71m. It was 1st and 2nd for Aoife and Hannah in the Shot with Aoife throwing 8.57m to win and Hannah threw 6.85m for Sliver, Hannah also competing in the 400m finished 3rd, while Aoife also won titles in the Discus throwing 16.49m and in the Hammer throwing 21.45. Well done to both.

BOYS RESULTS
In the U.12 Boys 60m Hurdles Martin Kehoe won Sliver and Jake Vermeer took home the Bronze medal. Martin also won Sliver in the High Jump with a jump of 1.20m, his club mates Cian Kinsella, Oran Brophy and Jake Vermeer finished in Joint 4th all clearing 1.15m.
In the Ball throw Craig Cook was 3rd with a throw of 34.30m. Oran Brophy, Cian Kinsella, David Kelly and Jake Vermeer all threw well on the Day.

Boys U.13 In the Javelin Shahzad Jehan competing in his first competition won the Gold with a great throw of 20.41m. In the 60m Hurdles Emmet Whelan won Sliver and Emmet also won Sliver in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.87m. In the Shot, Shahzad Jehan and Rehan Ali also threw well.  The Relay team of Martin Kehoe, Emmet Whelan, Jake Vermeer, Oran Brophy and Rehan Ali ran a great race to finish in 2nd place.

Boys U.14 Michael Whelan competing in his first Championship won Gold in the Hammer with a throw of 18.60m,  Michael won Sliver in the Hurdles and  also finished 3rd in the 200m and 3rd in the High Jump with a jump of 1.25m he  was 3rd In the Javelin with a throw of 18.13m.

Boys U.15 100m Darren Prout won double titles when he won in the Triple Jump with a jump of 11.16m and the Discus throwing 18.10m. In the 200m Darren Prout was 2nd with Darragh Shelly In 3rd place. Their club mates Conor Shelly and David Doyle finished in 4th and 5th place. In the High jump Darren Prout won Sliver with a jump of 1.40m. Darragh Shelly was 2nd In the Long Jump with a jump of 5.11m and Darren Prout was 3rd jumping 5.03m.
In the Javelin Michael Dineen threw very well taking the Gold with a throw of 24.94m his Club mate Robert Bien competing in his first competition also threw very well.  Micheal finished 2nd in the Discus throwing 15.85m, he won Sliver in the Hammer throwing 15.00m, Darren Prout was 3rd throwing 14.95m and Robert Bien was 4th throwing 13.63m.
Conor Shelly won Bronze in the Triple Jump with a jump of 8.88m.
The Relay team of Conor Shelly, Darragh Shelly, Michael Dineen, Darren Prout and David Doyle had a great win at the end of the Day.

Boys U.18 Cormac Fahey ran a great 400m to win Silver his first time to run at that distance.

In Junior Men Shane Prout had a great Championship winning 5 titles with Gold in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 16.89. Gold in Long Jump with a jump of 5.82m, he won the Triple Jump with a jump of 13.21m, the Javelin with a throw of 27.81m and the Gold in the Hammer with a throw of 18.05m. Shane Prout was 2nd in the High Jump with a PB Jump of 1.80m and 2nd in the Shot Putt with a throw of 8.11m and  he was 3rd in the 100m with a time of 12.13.
Shane O’Dwyer also had a great Championship winning the 100m in a time of 11.66 and the High Jump with a jump of 1.85m. Shane was also 2nd in the Triple Jump with a jump of 9.17m.

The County B Championship will be held in Templemore on the 28th of May 2011 at 12 Noon. All athletes who didn’t win an individual medal at our County Championship for ages under 9 to 14 are welcome to compete on this Day. This is a great Championship to compete in with fun relays for all.
