The County Tipperary Track & Field Championship for U.9 – U.12 were held in Templemore on Sunday 1st May 2011.
Kellie Bester was a star performer in her first county championship when she won double Gold. Other Gold medal winners were Roseanne Fitzgerald, Alexandra Lapiy U.11 and Aoife Doyle U.12

U.9 Girls Kellie Bester won the 60m Sprint in a time of 9.43 and the Ball Throw with a throw of 16.60m and was 2nd in the Long Jump with a jump of 2.81m.
Lynn Vermeer was 3rd in the Long Jump with a jump of 2.79m and was joint 3rd with her club mate Gwen Flatley in the Ball Throw with throws of 13.90m each.
In the 60m Sprint final we had four in the final they were Kellie Bester, Lynn Vermeer, Gwen Flatley and Aine Doyle.
In the relay final our teams were 1st and 2nd, Gold medal winners were Zara Ronan, Nichole Lapiy, Hannah Foley, Gwen Flatley.  The Silver medals winners were Aine Doyle, Lynn Vermeer, Kellie Bester and Grace Whelan.

U.10 60m Sprint. Hazel Mcfadden was a close 4th in the final.
Chole Hall was 4th in the Long Jump with a jump of 3m. In the relay our team of Kellie Flaherty, Chole Hall, Emily Foskin Hazel Mc Fadden and Alannah Twohig all ran great to win Bronze Medals.

In the Girls U.11 Rosanne Fitzgerald had a great win in the 60m sprint with a time of 8.50. In the 60m Finals we had three athletes Roseanne Fitzgerald, Miriam Daly and Alexandra Lapiy. Alexandra Lapiy won gold in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.12m. Caitlin Twomey was a great 4th with a jump of 3m. In the High Jump Laura Whelan was second with a jump of 1.07m, Isabel Dineen was 4th in the Ball Throw with a throw of 18.10m.  In this age group we had three relay teams competing, our A team of Laura Whelan, Roseanne Fitzgerald, Miriam Daly, Alexandra Lapiy and Caithlin Twomey were silver medal winners. 

The Girls U.12 Aoife Doyle won Gold in the Shot Putt with a throw of 7.27m, she was 3rd in the sprint with a time of 8.55. Catherine Dineen was 4th in the Shot Putt with a throw of 6.16m. Their relay team of Alice Browning, Aoife Doyle, Kerri-Ann Whelan , Ciara Flaherty and Tara Gayson.

In the Boys U.9 relay team were 3rd with a team of Conor Hogan, Micheal Freaney, Fichra Twohig and Ciaran Barry.

U.11 Boys Dylan Wall and Noel Anycolon were 4th and 5th in the High Jump. In the relay with a team of Aaron Kinsella, Dylan Wall, Noel Anycolon and Barry Kehoe were 4th and our B team of Alan Norris, Callum O’Meara, Steven Uazic and Jake Costello all ran well.

In the Boys U.12 Martin Kehoe was 3rd in the 30m Sprint in a time of 8.83.  In the Long Jump Oran Brophy was 2nd with jump of 3.66m and Martin Kehoe was 3rd with a jump of 3.56m. In the 600m John O’Dwyer ran a great race. The relay team of Cian Kinsella, Jake Vermeer, Martin Kehoe,Oran Brophy and David Kelly were 4th.

Many of our athletes were competing for the first time and really enjoyed the experience.
