MUNSTER JUNIOR TITLES FOR AOIFE BARTLEY AND SHANE PROUT

The Munster Junior Indoor Championship got the New Year off to a great start for our athletes when Aoife Bartley won the Long Jump with a jump of 5.04m and was second in the Triple Jump with a jump of 10.63m.
Shane Prout won the Triple Jump with a fine Jump of 12.86m.
Shane O Dwyer won double silver when he equalled his PB performance in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.66m and he was also 2nd in the High Jump with a jump of 1.75m
Hannah Trehy was 3rd in the 60m Hurdles in a time of 10.76 secs
Keith Smith was 3rd in the Senior Mens Long Jump with a PB Jump of 6.35m
Keith also had a PB in the 60m sprint where he ran 7.57 secs
In the 3000m Martina O’Dwyer was always up with the leaders and finished a creditable 3rd in a time of 10.49

AT THE ALL IRELAND JUNIOR INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP
Shane O’Dwyer gave a great performance in the High Jump at the All Ireland Indoor Junior Championship last Saturday where he equalled his Personal Best with a clearance of 1.90m. Shane cleared every height from 1.70m to 1.90m on his first attempt and was unlucky not to clear at 1.95m.
Aoife Bartley was 2nd in her Triple Jump with a great jump of 11.00m

At the All Ireland Cross Country Championship held in Tullamore last Sunday Martina O’Dwyer ran a brilliant novice race to finish 6th in a very competitive field. This was a brilliant performance for Martina who was competing in her first All Ireland Championship.

All athletes should return to training to be fit to compete in The Munster Juvenile Championship for U-9 to U-13 which will be held in Nenagh on 19th and 20th of February and the U-14 to U-19 age group will be held on the 26th and 27th of February.

New Members are very welcome to come and enjoy getting fit through games and coordination drills. Training is held in the Sean Kelly Sports Centre Field on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 4pm. With Fitness and wellbeing been the topic of the moment all are welcome to come along and join in.
